Raquel Orozco is from Mexico. She arrived in Richmond as a teenager and didn’t speak a word of English. March Madness started today. March Madness, the NCAA men’s basketball championship tournament, is held in March and April every year. This year, the championship game falls on April 4, and will be held in Houston. In honor of this annual tradition, Richmond Confidential hopes to help you keep track of the madness with a breakdown of teams and game times. This project will be updated at the end of each day’s games to reflect game outcomes.
For the past five months, the city of Richmond, along with a slew of partners, has worked to renovate Nevin Community Center. On Saturday, the community space will hold it’s grand reopening with activities, educational information, and food. For the people in the surrounding community, changes from inside the center are already being reflected within the Iron Triangle neighborhood.
