What are your hopes for Point Molate?

Point Molate served as a U.S. Navy fuel station on the shoreline of Richmond between 1942 and 1995. The area was then entrusted to the city of Richmond, which in 2004 entered into an agreement with the Guidiville Band of Pomo Indians, in association with developer Upstream LCC, to develop 266 acres of Point Molate a resort and casino. The development of this project has created a great deal of controversy among Richmond residents. Some say building a casino will provide local jobs, others say it will invite crime and bring in fewer jobs than the developer claims.
The pictures in this audio slideshow were taken recently on a drive around the area of Point Molate and the voices are those of different Richmond residents.

I think the City should stop fooling around and endorse the Guidiville Tribe and their plans to take over the Point Molate and restore it and bring something truly valuable and unique to the city. No more broken promises and a Tribe as a long term steward of the land and committed to work with us is just what we need. City Hall, wake up and smell the coffee and do not bite off the hand that has the opportunity to feed so many people in Contra Costa County. Everyone write your councilmember to have them stop the nonsense and support the Tribe and restoring Point Molate the right way.
What could possibly go wrong when a tribe takes over land and turns it into a sovereign nation that does not honor local, county, and state laws?

propaganda smells on the links,you can type whatever the fact is there will not be 1 million gallons of water used a day,at any golf course,sounds scary,THERE WILL BE A NEW SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT BUILT AT POINT MOLATE.also a hotel and convention center and ferry terminal,and the greenest job prodject in CALIFORNIA TO DATE so wo are these people that are against a resort in RICHMOND.RENO AND TAHOE AND ALL SMALL CARDROOMS WITH FUNNY RULES,PROBABLY AND CHEVRON worried about lawsuits for leaks,and air pollution,but if this does get built you can bet(no pun intended)chevron executives will be first in line to book a room,or buy a waterfront home.
