Thanksgiving comes early for Richmond seniors
on November 22, 2015
Turkey was eaten, stories were shared and songs were sung at this year’s Richmond Annex Senior Center’s Thanksgiving lunch. Nobody seemed to mind that the lunch was served six days before actual Thanksgiving.
About 60 senior citizens showed up. Richmond firefighters helped serve the food, prepared by students of Contra Costa College’s Culinary Arts Department.
Rose Texera, an 87-year-old Richmond resident and vice president of the senior center’s board, has attended the event for four years.
“It’s so nice,” she said.
