Homicide victim identified as Richmond resident

The Contra Costa County Coroner has identified the victim of Tuesday morning’s shooting on the 300 block of 28th Street in Richmond as 19-year-old Dimarea Young, a Richmond resident. According to Richmond Police Detective Nicole Abetkov, two other victims were also injured during the shooting. A man shot and killed last week at the Richmond BART station was identified Monday by the Contra Costa County Coroner as San Pablo resident Raymond Harris. Man charged with attempting to murder a police officer

The Contra Costa District Attorney filed charges earlier this week against a 30-year-old man for attempting to shoot and kill several Richmond Police officers who were responding to a 911 call. The defendant, Elston Young, has been charged with three felonies for pointing his gun toward police officers earlier this month.
