on October 8, 2013
A man who was stabbed Saturday during an altercation with another man at a Richmond homeless shelter has died.
Richmond Police officers responded to the stabbing call Saturday at 2:13 p.m. in the 800 block of Brookside Drive. Officers discovered Larry Kittleson, 49, of Anderson, who was in critical condition after being stabbed with a knife, according to Richmond Police Captain Mark Gagan. He said no suspect was found at the scene.
Gagan said officers transported Kittleson to a trauma center, where he died from his wounds Sunday at 2:25 p.m.
Gagan said the responding officers searched for the suspect in an industrial area about one mile east of the shelter and discovered him about two hours later hiding in a ravine.
Jeberiah Neptune Moore, 37, of San Pablo was arrested and charged with one count of homicide, Gagan said. Moore is being held on $1 million bail at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Kittleson is the city’s 16th homicide victim this year, which includes a fatal shooting at the Richmond BART station in March.
A total of 18 homicides occurred in Richmond in 2012.
