On Wednesday night, in the Richmond high school cafeteria, the more than 40 players on the Oiler roster were congratulated on their successful season. Coaches thanked them for their efforts, certain players received awards for their play, and the team now has a trophy to document it.

Three young Richmond boxers from the Richmond Police Activities League boxed last Saturday at an exhibition hosted by the RPAL. The exhibition, which welcomed fighters from different boxing clubs and gyms, featured 15 bouts with varying age and weight divisions. RPAL’s Anthony J. On Saturday the West Contra Costa Unified School District will host the first ever North Coast Section soccer jamboree. With 15 20-minute games scheduled in less than eight hours, it’s sure to be race car-like. All games are to be held at Richmond High and admission is free.
