On Wednesday night the Richmond Oilers (0-2-1) lost to the Monte Vista Mustangs (5-0-0) by the score of 2-1. The game was played under a sea of fog as players’ battled visibility and a slippery field the entire night. In the first half Monte Vista came out kicking and took a commanding 2-0 lead. On Saturday more than 300 people lined the long hallway at Barrett Avenue Christian Church to celebrate gift giving. Mayor Gayle McLaughlin invited the community to the Richmond Public Library Friday night to honor the memory of this year’s homicide victims. More than 30 people attended the event. Richmond Arts Center has been holding holiday arts festivals for more than 50 years. But this is the first time its festival has gone green, thanks to volunteers who spent a week in November making decorations for the Dec. 2 festival out of old newspapers.
