US Congressman George Miller (D) overwhemingly wins re-election with 73.45% of the vote.
Audrey Miles loses her spot on the West Contra Costa Unified School District to Elaine Merriweather. Ramsey and Kronenberg retain seats.
McLaughlin won 40.43% of the vote. Bates: 36.52%. Ziesenhenne: 22.85%.
Mayor McLaughlin picks up major support on the council with the addition of Beckles and Boozé, both ardent supporters of the mayor.
Rogers was the only city councilmember to retain his seat. Maria Viramontes and Myrna Lopez lost their re-election bids.
