Weekend shooting suspect arrested
on December 6, 2011
Police have arrested a man in connection with a mid-day deadly shooting in Parchester Village Saturday.
The Richmond Police Department arrested Gil Turner, 26, but have no motive for the shooting, Lt. Bisa French wrote in an email.
Tony Reynolds, 46, was shot on the 800 block of Griffin Drive, near the Richmond Country Club at 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
“When the officers got there they found a victim … lying on the sidewalk and he was deceased,” said RPD Captain Mark Gagan. “It appeared that he’d been shot multiple times by a small-caliber handgun.”
“It was later revealed based on what was developed by the preliminary officers that [RPD] can identify who the suspect was.”
Reynolds’ death is the city’s 26th homicide this year. Last year, the city recorded 21 homicides.
The killing is the first in the city since Sept. 20, when a 30-year-old woman was found dead in a local Mexican restaurant.
