Weekends in Richmond: Cinco de Mayo on 23rd Street

Thousands packed the 23rd Street commercial district on Sunday to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Richmond teamed up with the city of San Pablo for two days of festivities. Saturday’s events included a lively parade that kicked off at 24th Street and Barrett Avenue and finished at the San Pablo Civic Center. On Sunday, three large stages flanked thousands of festival goers on 23rd Street. Highlights included dancing horses, kids’ games and dozens of food and vendor booths. Sunday’s festivities on 23rd Street were termed “A Mile of Smiles.” Enjoy these pictures from Sunday.
