Fighting the flu one vaccine at a time
on November 8, 2010
Flu season has arrived and the Contra Costa County Public Health Department plans to stop the virus in its tracks.
This Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., the county will be hosting walk-in clinics for its residents at nine different locations. The Richmond clinic will be held at the Richmond Auditorium (403 Civic Center Plaza).
The flu vaccine protects against three flu viruses, including H1N1, and health officials recommend that everyone older than 6 months be immunized.
If Wednesday is inconvenient, the county public health department also offers regular vaccination clinics every Monday from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Richmond Health Center.
Other areas of the county also host immunization clinics; times and locations vary weekly and can be found at (800) 246-2494.
