David Ferry

Reporter

David Ferry is a journalist living in Oakland, California. He enjoys investigative reporting, politics and the fried chicken sandwich from Bakesale Betty. He was born and raised a few stops down the BART line in Pleasant Hill, and later spent four years at UC Santa Barbara, where he was editor of the school’s daily paper. In Santa Barbara, Ferry chased fires, covered crime and spent more than one night on the newsroom couch. After half a decade by the beach, he returned up north to freelance and intern for KQED Public Radio’s The California Report, where he covered climate change and its effect on the state of California. He is currently a first year student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, with a focus on new media. He misses surfing, the sun and free time.
