PALcenter lays down red carpet

on September 21, 2011

Richmond’s Police Activities League is gearing up for a star-filled “Red Carpet Experience” at the Craneway Pavilion this Saturday. The night of music and fashion supports health and wellness charity programs through Bay Area organizations including the Richmond PAL, Berkeley Youth Alternatives and El Cerrito High School’s James Morehouse Project. The concert lineup features Guest DJ Jermaine Dupri, and R&B singers Faith Evans and Robin Thicke.

This past Sunday, young men from the PAL center went to the Men’s Wearhouse in downtown Oakland to be fitted for the charity event’s fashion show. In the video above the men share their thoughts on style, the PAL center and their big night.

The Richmond PAL is a nonprofit organization that provides activities and programs for more than 3,000 children between 5-18 years old. The league, organized by police officers, local business leaders, and community volunteers, sponsors programs such as tutoring sessions, computer training classes, and an Off Roads program that gives kids a chance to practice their riding skills with dirt bikes and All Terrain Vehicles.
