To the south and west, they took in sweeping views of the bay, with Brooks Island just in front of them and the San Francisco skyline as backdrop. Directly behind them lay the industrial maze of shipping channels and railroad terminals that make up the Inner Harbor, one of California’s largest-volume shipping ports.
